Florida-November 2013
I didn't have much love for Florida until we took this trip. We wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for the fact that my husband had a week long hotel stay in Miami for an airline training event. He had a few days to hang out with us so we drove north 5 hours to Astor, Florida to visit with his grandparents. They live close to the Ocala National forest so we did some exploring then drove back to Miami along the coast. While in Miami, we went to a few local beaches, loaded up on Cuban food and seafood, and visited the Miami Seaquarium. We had an amazing trip and there is now a big place in my heart for Florida.

Road trip to Astor
Matt and I have visited the Alexander Springs Recreation area before and we were excited to return with the kids. We went canoeing in warm, clear water and saw a ton of wildlife.
Bahia Honda State Park is what sold me on Florida. With white sandy beaches, warm water and virtually no undertow, this was the best beach we have ever been to...ever. We swam, found beautiful shells, played in the sand and soaked up the sun.
So, yeah, we will be going to Florida again.
